PRINTABLE POSTCARDS AND BOOKMARKS
PRINTING THE POSTCARDS
The image is sized for 4”x6” postcards printed on a standard (U.S.) 8 ½” X 11” sheet so you’ll need to cut it out after printing. My cutting method is to use a straight edge and a X-acto knife.
Set the printer’s page set-up to 8 ½” X 11” (letter size) with minimize margins, and center image. I set the print quality for high, at least 1440 dpi.
I have the best results when the image is printed on heavy white card stock. I use 110 lb weight.
Alternately it could be printed on white paper and then the paper glued to cardboard or card stock so that it will be sturdy enough to send through the mail.
Photo paper is another option, the heavyweight type for postcards.
The back, or address side of the postcard, page 2, may be printed on the reverse of the card stock. Be sure you load the paper the same way, top first (down). The back of the postcard was designed a little smaller than the front for ease in print matching front to back. Again, alternately, the back could be printed separately on white paper and glued to the back of the cardboard or cardstock.
Or the address specifics can be drawn in by hand.
Have fun with it and let me know how it goes. There are many variables to consider when printing. These images were created with high saturation so that they will print up bright. Depending on the printer used, the settings for saturation, and brightness/contrast may need to be adjusted to match the original design.
PRINTING THE BOOKMARKS
These are also designed for printing on an 8 ½” X 11” sheet and then cut out. Each finished bookmark is about 2 1/2” x 8”. The same guidelines as above apply except there is no backside to print.
